A few days prior to the event, the students were sent a form where they could choose the classes they would like to attend. There were three time slots per day, each lasting about an hour, where students could create their schedule for that day.
Among these classes, there was the “K-POP FANFARE: How to Become a Responsible Stan” class which taught many ways to healthily partake in fan activities. Another class that was available to choose from was the “Journaling 101: How to Get Started” class, where students learned the practicality of journaling and its different types and uses!
Then there was also the captivating world of Origami, where students delved into the intricate art of paper folding. Guided by skilled instructors, they learned to transform simple sheets of paper into stunning sculptures, honing not only their creativity but also their patience and focus. Origami proved to be not just an art form but also a meditative practice, captivating the hearts and minds of those who dared to explore its depths.
In another corner of the virtual classroom, eager learners gathered for the “Hands-On Fun: Basic Sign Language for Kids” class. Here, amidst laughter and camaraderie, participants embarked on a journey of communication and empathy. Children and adults alike discovered the beauty of expressing themselves through gestures and signs. Beyond the practical skills gained, this class fostered understanding and inclusivity, leaving a lasting impact on all who took part.
Meanwhile, aspiring musicians found themselves drawn to the enchanting melodies of the “How to Play Guitar for Beginners” class. Led by seasoned guitarists, beginners were introduced to the fundamental concepts of playing this beloved instrument. From learning basic chords to strumming techniques, students were guided with patience and encouragement, instilling in them a love for music and a desire to continue their musical journey. In this supportive environment, each strum and chord progression marked a step forward in their pursuit of musical proficiency.
In Food Preparation, students explored the art of crafting Tanghulu, a traditional Chinese candied fruit snack symbolizing happiness, by dipping red hawthorn berries into a sugar syrup. “Paper Craft” introduced the versatile medium of paper and card stock, delving into techniques like folding, cutting, and stitching to fashion two or three-dimensional creations. “Finger Painting” encouraged creative expression, as students used their fingertips to transform blank canvases into vibrant artworks. “Basic Taekwondo for Kids” taught fundamental kicks, blocks, and stances, promoting physical fitness and mental focus. “MatheMagic” offered an engaging journey into mathematics tailored for young minds eager to explore its enchanting world!
In the culinary realm, “Making Healthy Drink – Cucumber Lemonade” offered a refreshing beverage perfect for warm days, using fresh cucumbers and lemon juice. Hand crafting with coffee and milk sachets promoted sustainability and creativity, as students repurposed materials to craft unique items while fostering environmental consciousness. “Sweet Bites of Joy: Graham Balls Making” introduced students to crafting delicious, easy-to-prepare bite-sized treats. “Rolling in Fun: Pizza Bread Roll Making” combined pizza flavors into a fun-sized appetizer or snack, displaying culinary creativity in a simple recipe.
In confectionery, “Sweet Success: Mastering the Art of Cake Pops” allowed students to indulge their sweet tooth while learning to decorate delightful cake pops. “Squid Game Mania: Sugar Honeycomb Making” offered a trendy treat inspired by a popular Netflix series, allowing students to create crispy honey-infused confections reminiscent of delicate honeycomb structures. “Crafting Sweet Delights: Pastillas De Leche” introduced students to crafting a timeless Filipino delicacy, potentially igniting their entrepreneurial spirit. “Unleashing Your Sweet Tooth: No bake Chocolate Cake” provided a hassle-free chocolatey delight, perfect for satisfying cravings without baking.
In personal development, “NETIQUETTE: AVGG (How to be A VERY GOOD GIRL/GUY) Online/Offline” promoted responsible online behavior for a safe cyber world. “Managing Stress” equipped students with tools for identifying and relieving stressors. “A Practical Guide to Time Management in the Digital Age” empowered students with strategies to enhance productivity amidst digital distractions. “The Power of Power” offered an interactive exploration of exponents, making mathematical concepts engaging and accessible.
For physical wellness, “Basic Home Exercise without Equipment for Beginners and Benefits” offered accessible fitness routines. “Zoomba “Let’s Dance” blended Zumba moves with video conferencing applications for an enjoyable at-home workout. “Art of Baking: Rocky Road Fudgy Brownies Class: Hands-on Experience” allowed budding bakers to hone their skills in creating delicious treats. “3 Easy Ways to Make Refreshing Drinks” tantalized taste buds with simple yet delightful beverage recipes. “Sunshine & Stitches: The Art of Crochet Creations” guided students through the intricate craft of crochet, fostering creativity and accomplishment!
As the curtains closed on this semester’s “Alternative Class Experience 2024 (ACX),” offshore Tamaraws bid farewell to their first semester with a sense of accomplishment and enrichment. From indulging their creative passions in origami and finger painting to honing practical skills like journaling and sign language, students embraced a diverse range of opportunities for growth and exploration. As they reflect on their experiences during ACX, they carry with them not only newfound knowledge and skills but also cherished memories of camaraderie and discovery. With hearts full of gratitude and minds buzzing with inspiration, they eagerly anticipate the adventures that await in the semesters to come. Farewell, first sem, and onwards to new horizons!
