The first point and serve of the game was made by Maray (11) of Grade 11 Vikings, followed by another serve and a point won by the same player, giving them a head start. The Grade 9 Spartans did not let it pass as Bustaleña spiked with precision, aiming for the class, earning the Samurais a point followed by another. Maray’s error contributed to another point for Samurais. More errors followed, and the score gap between the two teams is widening! Although the game started with errors from the Vikings, they quickly caught up with the Samurais, attempting to seal the gap. Just like that, timeout! With a three-point gap, the Samurais lead the way!
As the timeout ended, tensions began rising, with Samurais failing to score this time. With a one-point deficit from having the win during the first round, the pressure is on for both sides! The Samurais gave their best and showed what they could do, and with a three-point lead, the Samurais won the first set!
With the second set on the way, the Samurais were leading again! But with a series of errors from both sides, the gap between the two’s scores was close and constant. The Vikings were determined to turn things around, which motivated them to earn a one-point lead. No one wanted to back down; Both teams’ scores tied constantly! Errors and gaps continuously occur. Four points to go, and with both sides tied now on the scores, the game is in heat!
The Samurais soon made their way through, gaining a two-point lead again. With one point left to earn for the Samurais to claim the second set, the Samurais are close to winning! With an error from the Vikings, the set concluded with the Samurais prevailing.
With the third set on the way, the Samurais were ahead as they already won two sets over the Vikings. The pressure is on for the Vikings to recover! Encouraged to take the crown this time, the Vikings led with a three-point gap from Samurais!
The gap soon closed as the Samurais were quickly catching up. The Vikings did not let them pass through! Soon enough, after a much-heated battle, the Samurais lead with 4 points! With two points to go, the sweet smell of victory emanated from around the corner! But the Vikings were persistent as they clutched it with a two-point lead. In the end, the Vikings won the third set, giving them hope to turn the tables around!
The fourth set was the deciding point as to which team was to be hailed as victors; The game was at its peak! After the unexpected turn of events during the previous set, the Samurais were determined not to lose their focus, thus leading the game by three points! But the gap rapidly closed with multiple errors from the Samurais. Now, the Vikings lead with a single point! The gap grew by over three points. Even so, the Samurais were quick to catch up.
With three points left from ending the set, both teams were giving their all! The crowd cheered for the teams they were rooting for, adding to the game’s tension. Suddenly, with an error from the Vikings, the Samurais caught up! With both having one point away from winning, the crowd goes wild in excitement as the two go on fire, fighting for victory!
At last, after a much intense match filled with anticipation caused by unpredictable turns, the Samurais were given the title of victors at the Volleyball Women’s Championship! The team captain of Samurai, Hernandez (06) was hailed as the game’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
As the Women’s division came to its end, the Men’s division commenced with the Grade 10 – Pirates already gaining a two-point lead over the Vikings! The Vikings quickly recovered, leading with a point! Like the previous game, the gap increased between the two, but this time, it is in favor of the Vikings! The Pirates soon caught up and began taking the lead. With a two-point gap, the Pirates were at an advantage! This edge did not last for long as a rotation error by the Pirates made the two tie on scores.
The teams closely followed each other, with each time getting tie scores! A couple of errors coming from the Pirates later, the Vikings were ahead again by a point! The Pirates did not want to back down, spiking their way to tie the scores!
As the timeout ended, the Vikings had a point lead again, and they were now a point away from winning the first set! With another error from the Pirates, the first set concluded with the Vikings winning!
Off the second set goes! The Vikings were ahead by two points. The gap between scores kept getting wider. The fire began to ignite, and the pressure on both sides heightened. The gap now extended from two to five points in favor of the Vikings! With four points to go for the Vikings, the crowd shouted in excitement! Two points left, and the pressure is getting onto the Pirates. Thus, the second set concluded with the Vikings gaining an eight-point lead, having two victories under their belt!
The Pirates were more motivated than ever to turn the situation around during the third set! The game began with the Pirates gaining a two-point lead this time! The Vikings refused to be defeated, and the two tied with nine points.
The crowd roared in anticipation; their eyes closely followed the ball as it moved from both sides of the net! Soon, the Vikings overtook the Pirates with a two-point lead!
The Vikings extended their lead further with four points! With the Vikings only five points from winning the Championship, the Pirates were working hard to catch up! And another time-out, with 20-19 still in favor of the Vikings! With two points left for the Vikings, the game was in heat! The gap was still close, but with an error from the Pirates, the gap widened, and the title of Champions is now in sight for the Vikings!
With a 4-point lead, the Vikings prevailed as the Volleyball Men’s Champions, with Carag (0) of the Grade 11 – Vikings earning the title of the Most Valuable Player (MVP)!
