The celebration kicked off with a vibrant parade organized by FEU Roosevelt, showcasing a diverse representation of teachers, Indakan dancers, and student-athletes engaged in various activities, from traditional ball games to e-sports. Led by the FEU Roosevelt Drum and Bugle Corps, the parade featured colorful displays of costumes and talents representing each campus.
The parade began with the central office heads, followed by campus-specific performances. FEU Manila’s marching band added a mesmerizing touch with their vibrant display of flags, while each campus, including FEU Roosevelt Cainta, Marikina, and Rodriguez, showcased their unique spirit and culture.
FEU Roosevelt Marikina impressed with their striking blue jerseys and energetic performance, while FEU Roosevelt Rodriguez showcased their enthusiasm with cheers for their campus representatives. The elementary departments of each campus presented captivating performances, highlighting Filipino culture and traditions.
The festivities continued with the formal opening program, including the raising of the national flag, a multi-faith prayer, and welcoming remarks by Dr. Alma Emerita V. Dela Cruz, FEU Roosevelt’s Senior Vice President. A sense of unity and pride filled the Marikina Sports Center as students competed in lively chants and raised their campus flags.
The symbolic lighting of the cauldron marked the beginning of the games, with athletes pledging to uphold sportsmanship. Dr. Geraldo C. Talisic, Vice President for Administration, Quality Assurance, and System Development, officially declared the games open.
FEU Roosevelt also showcased its commitment to community and culture with the Human Formation of the institution’s name – FEUR – captured by a drone and the Indakan performances highlighting the diverse Philippine culture.
The three campuses delivered mesmerizing Indakan performances, showcasing their creativity and dedication to Filipino traditions. The event concluded with an intermission number by the FEU Drum & Bugle Corps, followed by the singing of the FEU Hymn, symbolizing the community’s unity and resilience.
As FEU Roosevelt celebrates its 91st year, the FEUR-R Gazette Club extends its congratulations, wishing the institution many more years of bravery, resilience, and competence.
With the spirit of the Tamaraws burning bright, the celebration exemplified FEU Roosevelt’s commitment to excellence and tradition, marking another milestone in its illustrious history.
