On the 22nd day of August 2022, the classes began to open with the grand, heart-warming welcome of FEU Roosevelt to all the Tamaraws. The first week was declared as week zero. All the students were required to attend all orientations regarding the class schedules, Canvas, Cengage, and the upcoming Face-to-Face mode of learning schedules of all Tamaraws in September. The students have also made their way to accomplish all the assigned Canvas activities in which the six badges were supposed to be completed within week zero, then to be acknowledged during their orientation with their designated sections; The meet & greet the class along with their dearest adviser and classmates that was held on the 25th day of August 2022.
It’s indeed interesting how was the first week of being back at school of the Tamaraws went ahead! Was it blissful and memorable enough to be remembered? Have the students ever felt blue or nervous about meeting their new teachers and classmates? Are they excited to begin their new journey for the School Year 2022-2023? Gladly, there are students from the Junior High School Department and the Senior High School Department who willingly participated to share their first week of classes’ thrilling experiences.
For the Junior High School (JHS) Department, students have mentioned that their starting week of this school year was fun and refreshing. Still, they also felt pressured and nervous because some of them are currently in their last school year of being in Junior High School level. Despite being presently unsure about their planned tracks to succeed in the upcoming years, they desire to enjoy this academic school year, especially since they would be able to experience the Face-to-Face learning mode. In addition, they felt happy because they got to encounter a lot of new classmates, and it was fun socializing and making new friends. On the other hand, students also shared that they were terrified of socializing since some of them have difficulties connecting with others. They still haven’t met all their subject teachers, but they are excitedly looking forward to meeting them and experiencing their ways of teaching to gain knowledge that would help them have a memorably thorough school year. Although they’re completely aware that the voyage toward success might not be easy and there will be exhausting challenges, Most of them still feel excited to see what this year has in store for their journey. Eagerly, most of them are encouraged not to give up because they are hoping this school year to be thrilling as well as meaningful, or even more than last year; With their hopes of being able to adjust to this academic school year, they are looking forward to establishing a healthy environment that would assist them to be a better version of themselves.
For the Senior High School (SHS) Department, students gladly appreciated how FEU Roosevelt put a lot of effort into the orientations and organizing the class schedules. Some perceived the combination of nervousness, excitement, and delightfulness because it was the beginning of their new voyage of stepping stones toward victory. Indeed, the beginning experiences in their classes were phases of anxiously adjusting and eagerly familiarizing themselves with their classmates and teachers. Despite the new environment of their journey to triumph, they have been looking forward to discovering things that could assist them in becoming knowledgeable students. Also, to form healthy relationships with their classmates and achieve their goals of improving, they would be able to come out of their comfort zones to face the upcoming challenges bravely and eventually have extensive understanding in viewing the subjects around them. Most of their common goals for this school year are the desire to be more active students in classes with the presence of improvements in their academic performance and participation in extracurricular activities. They hoped for this school year to be filled with unforgettable and euphoric memories with their fellow Tamaraws and the possible FEURR events during the Face-to-Face set-up that would surely make every student’s journey fascinating.
The FEURR Gazette Club would like to express their gratitude to the Tamaraws who have shared their experiences and thoughts about their first week of classes.
