At 8:00 AM, the program commenced as Ms. Justine Salazar and Mr. Jerald Rosento, the emcees of the event, introduced the members of the school administration to deliver their remarks. The principal of FEUR Rodriguez, Ms. Maria Teresa Angeles, gave her welcome remarks, while the history of the three FEUR campuses (Cainta, Marikina, and Rodriguez) was presented by Mr. Michael Bitanga.
To entertain the viewers, intermission numbers from the three campuses were showcased. Afterwards, Ms. Erika Comendador, the Cainta campus assistant principal, presented an overview of the topics to be discussed during the event. These include orientations regarding MS Office 365 and other student services.
The heads of different departments for student services began to discuss their structure and the services they offer to the school community. They also provided instructions regarding several processes such as troubleshooting problems on accounts, the enrollment requirements, payment processes, guidance online appointments, and medical services.
Canvas, the primary learning tool of FEU Roosevelt and where student services are mostly found, was given an intensive orientation. The CSOC or Canvas Student Onboarding Course was emphasized by Mr. Karl De Los Santos. This is a course for students to accomplish to adapt themselves with the new learning tool. Subsequently, students’ questions were immediately answered by the departments.
The Week Zero activities will continue on August 16 with orientations for students per department based on their learning partners. In case students or parents missed the Grand Welcome this morning, they could still rewatch the recorded session via the link sent to them by their advisers.
