Before the event kicked off, the atmosphere in the gymnasium shifted as the audience collectively offered prayers for those affected by the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza. Mrs. Angeles, the FEURR Principal, emphasized the significance of unity and urged everyone to strive for peace. “Let us all know the true meaning of this celebration. We are united as nations, and let’s all do everything possible to avoid conflicts para hindi na dumating ang war.”

The spectacle began with muses and escorts from grades 7 and 8 showcasing costumes from various countries during the welcoming remarks. The KapareWho event unfolded as contestants introduced their impersonations, leaving the audience and judges guessing. The judges engaged in the guessing game, including Ms. Sarah Evangelista and Ms. Donna Cloma, the school principal and teachers.

Among the standout performances, Hashley Claire Talavera from 7 – Gumamela channeled Josefa Llanes Escoda, while Nathan Ace Aguilar from 8 – Banaba embodied Jose Rizal. The audience was treated to a diverse range of historical figures, from Gabriella Silang to Gregorio Del Pillar, and even Abraham Lincoln, portrayed by Jethroe Ira Calubayan from Grade 9 – Catmon.

The contagious energy of classmates cheering and waving supportive signs added to the excitement, creating a vibrant atmosphere within the gymnasium. The event was further enriched by performances from talented FEURR students and teachers, including the FEURR Chorale and the Male Faculty Band.

In a riveting finale, John Moses Sampan from Grade 10 – Aguinaldo emerged as the champion, brilliantly impersonating the revolutionary hero Andres Bonifacio. His portrayal, complete with a pre-recorded introduction and dramatic reenactments, left a lasting impression on the audience.

Alexis John De Guzman and Jethroe Ira Calubayan secured 1st and 2nd place, respectively, in recognition of their outstanding performances. The winners, including Sampan, were awarded trophies and medals during a ceremony attended by Araling Panlipunan teachers, Ms. Myla Ranjo and Mr. Roger Onelan Jr.

As the awarding ceremony unfolded into the night, participants from various competitions and programs in the UN Month enthusiastically claimed their certificates. The camaraderie and achievement were palpable, with friends and advisers joining the winners on stage.

Reflecting on the event, a participant in the History Exhibit highlighted the collective effort that went into making the UN Month celebration a success. The sentiment echoed Mrs. Angeles’s welcoming remarks, congratulating the AP Department and all students who contributed to the grand celebration.

Mrs. Angeles concluded the celebration by encouraging everyone to embrace the true meaning of the United Nations and work towards harmony and peace. As the event wrapped up, students diligently participated in the cleanup efforts, embodying the spirit of “ClayGo” or Clean as you go. The UN Month at FEURR celebrated cultures and history and fostered a deeper appreciation for unity, learning, and the individuals who make it all possible.
