The opening ceremony was held at San Jose Elementary School and commenced at 8:00 am. The student-athletes played various sports, including badminton, volleyball, and swimming. The volleyball competition was held at Gen. Licerio Geronimo Memorial National High School.

On the first day of the volleyball competition, the women’s volleyball team won against two schools, Burgos National High School and San Isidro National High School. The men’s volleyball team also won two sets over their competitors.

In an interview with a player of FEURR’s men’s division, Dwight Canayon, he stated, “I felt the challenge throughout the sports tournament because I could see the gap in experience and play between the teams and players.”

The game went crucial when FEURR’s women’s division played against San Isidro National High School, but, in the end, the team still triumphed.

In a statement, Ms. Gladys Enclona, the coach of the women’s volleyball team, shared that “they felt sad because they were not the champions but are still grateful because the student-athletes were able to experience that kind of event.”

The following day, the FEURR men’s volleyball team was defeated by Manggahan National High School, while the FEURR women’s volleyball team placed 3rd in the standings.

The student-athletes in badminton took home the champion title and a silver medal!

Lance Pingan, the badminton champion, pointed out the frills that the game brought along. “Siguro yung challenge sa akin is yung court and yung lightings sa court. Kasi super hangin dun sa court and madulas, tapos pagdating ng hapon hindi ko na gaano makita yung shuttle (shuttle cock), kasi super hina ng ilaw. (Maybe the challenge for me is the court and its lighting. Because it was so windy and slippery at dawn, I could not see the shuttle cock that much due to the dim lights.).”

Moving on to the swimming division, FEURR’s student-athletes brought home the bacon with their eleven gold medals, nine silver medals, and three bronze medals!

In an interview with their gold medalist, Anbri Pidlaoan, she stated, “(I) FELT GREAT! Representing my school (FEUR) for my sport feels good, knowing that I swim not only for myself but also for the name and glory of our school.”

“For all the other FEUR Tamaraws, I encourage them to try and join different sports club(s). Once you find a sport that is really for you, I assure you that it will be very fun and challenging; you will get to try and push yourself to the limit and improve your skills and health. For me, being a student-athlete is one of the best things I have ever done,” she added.
