School Year: 2022 – 2023
Under the guidance of their assigned teachers, Mr. Dayon, Mr. Vaso, and Mr. Aquino, the participating students from each section prepared to showcase their mathematical prowess in a series of challenging rounds. With each grade assigned a specific time slot, the quiz bee was set to commence promptly at 8:30 AM for Grade 9, followed by Grade 10 at 9:45 AM, and concluding with Grade 11 at 11:00 AM.
The mechanics of the competition were straightforward yet engaging. Each section was required to send three participants who would represent their grade levels in the Quiz Bee. The competition consisted of three rounds, each increasing in difficulty: Easy, Average, and Difficult. In the Easy Round, correct answers were worth one point, while the Average Round rewarded participants with three points per correct response. The stakes were raised in the Difficult Round, where each correct answer earned participants a substantial five points. At the end of the three rounds, the section with the highest cumulative score would be declared the winner.
The Quiz Bee not only encouraged healthy competition among the students but also fostered teamwork and collaboration within the sections. Prior to the event, students spent countless hours studying and reviewing various mathematical concepts, all in preparation for this day. As they gathered in the computer lab, one could sense the camaraderie and mutual support between team members, cheering each other on and offering words of encouragement.
