School Year: 2023 – 2024
The Collage, Slogan, Poster, Logo Making, and the much-anticipated Spoken Poetry competition held among Grade 7 – 12 students set the stage for the ‘Buwan ng Wika’ celebrations. These young artists were tasked with creating art pieces that captured the essence of the theme. As they highlighted their talents, the students demonstrated their prowess in merging culture, peace, and social justice into captivating collages.
As the competition commenced, the Grade 7 students displayed their expertise in making collages showing the importance of the Indigenous languages, whereas the Grade 8 students delved into the world of words with the Slogan Making competition. They were challenged to craft impactful slogans in line with the theme. The works of the Grade 8 wordsmiths wove powerful messages of unity and the significance of preserving indigenous languages. Followed by the Grade 10 students using their artistic skills to visually interpret the theme. They created visually striking posters that portrayed the importance of language in promoting peace and social justice, leaving a lasting impact on the audience to remember.
While the junior grade levels were tasked with creating pieces of art that would reflect the theme, the Grade 11 students were tasked with showing their creativity in the Logo Making category that the Filipino department will use as enduring symbols of the Buwan ng Wika celebration for SY 2023 – 2024.
And for the pinnacle of the Buwan ng Wika celebration, a Spoken Poetry competition was held. Students poured their hearts into their performances, delivering powerful spoken word pieces that resonated with the theme. Their heartfelt performances touched the audience’s hearts and brought the theme to life through spoken artistry.
After an intense competition, the winners were announced in different grade levels and various categories of the art competition. The winners are as follows:

The Grade 12 brought a fresh perspective to the Buwan ng Wika celebration as students were tasked with creating cultural attire using dolls. This innovative approach aimed to highlight the importance of cultural preservation and innovation. After a display of remarkable craftsmanship and creativity.
The Buwan ng Wika celebration at FEU Roosevelt Rodriguez was not only a testament to the linguistic diversity of the Philippines but also a celebration of the creativity, passion, and dedication of the students. Through art and words, they conveyed the message of peace, security, and social justice, reminding us of the importance of preserving and promoting Filipino and indigenous languages. The event concluded by showing unity, culture, and talent within the school community, leaving an impression on the school body who attended.
