Despite the pandemic situation we are currently in, the FEU Roosevelt Rodriguez Student Council (FEURRSC) prepared an event to commemorate the 88th Founding Anniversary of FEU Roosevelt. The Founding Anniversary was still celebrated, but through virtual means only. The event was held for three memorable days with different events and activities prepared for the students, faculty, and other members of FEU Roosevelt Rodriguez. The opening program took place in the morning of January 28, 2021, via Facebook Live on FEURRSC’s official Facebook page. The whole event was led by the student council in accordance to this year’s founding anniversary celebration.
The program officially started with greetings from the masters of ceremony, Angela Vergara, FEURRSC Grade 12 Representative, and Neah Cassandra Aguilar, FEURRSC Auditor. A video presentation was shown for the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and Prayer. Almhie Acojedo, FEURRSC Public Relations Officer, recited the school’s mission and vision. Afterwards, a mini roleplay regarding FEU Roosevelt’s history acted by the FEURRSC officers was shown to the audience virtually. The idea of the play was culled from Cong TV, a Filipino Influencer. The Opening Remarks and Greetings were given by the School Managers. It was started by Mrs. Imelda Cruz, Finance Officer, followed by Mrs. Elsa Martinez, OIC-School Registrar, Mrs. Marianne Tesoro, Guidance Counselor (EED), Mrs. Carolyn Santiago, Guidance Counselor (SED), Mrs. Leonila Santos, Asst. Principal, and last but not least, Mrs. Maria Teresa Angeles, Principal and Campus Head.
During the opening program, the schedule for January 28 events was also given to the live viewers for their guidance. For the morning events, next to the opening program were the Leadership Webinar featuring FEURR alumnus, Patrick Dave Bugarin, the Quiz Bee for the Elementary Education Department and Secondary Education Department, and Mobile Legends Exhibition Games. The events and activities returned after lunch time, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. First in line was the Virtual Chess Tournament, followed by the Call of Duty: Battle Royale Tournament, and the last event for the day was the Grand Club Day for each club at FEU Roosevelt Rodriguez.
Lawrence Emil Bugarin, FEURRSC President gave the closing remarks. The Opening Day officially ended with the singing of FEU Hymn and the presentation of video greetings made by FEURRSC in collaboration with the homeroom officers from different grade levels as a tribute for the 88th Founding Anniversary of FEU Roosevelt.
