Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BSPsy)

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BS Psychology) program at FEU Roosevelt is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in psychological theories, research, and practical applications. Rooted in the university’s values of resilience, competence, and integrity, the program prepares students for careers in mental health, human resources, research, and other psychology-related fields, as well as for further studies in clinical psychology, counseling, and medicine.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

This program produces graduates with a solid basic knowledge and skills in psychology with preparation in the natural sciences.

Throughout the program, students will:

  1. Gain in-depth knowledge of various psychological concepts and theories.
  2. Develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
  3. Master research techniques and statistical analysis.
  4. Learn to apply psychological principles in real-world settings.
  5. Build competencies in psychological assessment and intervention strategies.

Program Outcomes (PO)

Graduates of BS Psychology must be able to:

  • Demonstrate capability to discuss and analyze the major theories and concepts in psychology (knowledge in psychology)
  • Demonstrate and apply the methods of psychological inquiry in building knowledge on local culture and context (psychological research)
  • Demonstrate and apply psychological theories and methods in personal and professional setting (application of psychology)
  • Demonstrate capability for self-reflection and independent learning in graduate education or in a professional context (independent learning)
  • Demonstrate professional and ethical behaviors in research and practice in Psychology (ethics)
  • Demonstrate harmonious interpersonal relationship with colleagues, clients and others (interpersonal skills) in diverse cultural setting

Curriculum

BSPsy program at FEU Roosevelt is a 146-unit degree that equips students with a strong foundation in psychological theories, research, and applications. The curriculum includes 45 units of Required Psychology Courses, 8 units of Basic Psychology Courses, 12 units of Electives, and 20 units of Natural Science Courses. Practical experience is gained through a 6-unit Practicum, while General Education (36 units), PATHFIT (8 units), NSTP (6 units), and Institutional Courses (5 units) ensure a well-rounded education. Graduates are prepared for careers in psychology, human resources, research, and related fields.
