The Bachelor of Multimedia Arts aligns itself to the rapid convergence of media technologies and practices by developing conceptual, technical, aesthetic and professional competencies for effective, critical and innovative storytelling across a range of combination of media forms for various purposes.  It recognizes that digital media collapse different modes of expression and communication networks that allows for an interface of the local and global, national and transnational.  Thus, the program aims to create competent digital artists and communicators capable of disseminating a national idiom whereby Philippines cultural contexts, identities and formations are articulated in global and transnational discourse. 

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

  1. The Bachelor of Multimedia Arts program is designed to respond to the requirement in the discipline for graduates to be familiar with a wide range of media forms; and to provide the theoretical foundations and practical experience to develop skills in creative storytelling and expression for various purposes and contexts. 
  2. The goal of the program is to develop within students the knowledge and skills that will enable them to communicate effectively, critically, and creatively across a range of new media technologies and forms, and to develop multimedia projects with these qualities, for various purposes. 

Program Outcomes (PO)

  • Design multimedia projects creatively, based on knowledge of multimedia and communication theories, aesthetic principles, and approaches. 
  • Critically evaluate and articulate the societal, aesthetic, communicative and ethical value of a multimedia project based on global trends and issues in multimedia technologies, design, and practice. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the visual arts required in the production of multimedia projects. 
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in the use of appropriate technologies required in the production of multimedia projects. 
  • Demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior in the practice of multimedia production in the creative industries and in community contexts. 
  • Collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.

Curriculum

 

BMMA program at FEU Roosevelt is a 144-unit degree designed to develop creative professionals with expertise in digital media, design, animation, and visual storytelling. The curriculum includes 36 units of general education for foundational knowledge, 22 units of core courses covering essential multimedia principles, and 39 units of major courses focused on digital arts, graphic design, animation, video production, and interactive media. Students also take 9 units of electives to enhance their technical skills, 6 units of free electives for interdisciplinary learning, and 6 units for a thesis or capstone project, allowing them to showcase their creative expertise. The program also includes 3 units of on-the-job training (OJT) for industry experience, 8 units of PATHFIT (PE), 6 units of National Service Training Program (NSTP), and 9 units of institutional courses aligned with FEU Roosevelt’s mission. With a balance of artistic expression, technical proficiency, and industry application, the BMMA program prepares graduates for careers in multimedia design, advertising, animation, game development, and digital content creation
