Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd)

The Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) program at FEU Roosevelt is designed to prepare students to become effective and compassionate elementary school teachers. This program focuses on developing the pedagogical skills, subject matter knowledge, and values essential for teaching in elementary schools. The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including teaching methodologies, child development, and classroom management, ensuring that students are equipped to handle diverse learning environments.

Through both theoretical instruction and practical experience, students are trained to develop and implement effective lesson plans, assess student learning, and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual learners. The program also emphasizes the development of leadership and communication skills, fostering graduates who are competent, innovative, and dedicated to shaping the future of young learners.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

Three to five years after graduation, the graduates are:

  1. Teachers who are gainfully employed in a government recognized public or private educational institution, locally or internationally, and successfully assuming responsibilities of increasing complexity.
  2. Licensed professional teachers who demonstrate technical and professional expertise in the field of education and are engaged in continuing personal and professional development.
  3. Teachers who strictly adhere to high moral values in the practice of their profession with dignity and unblemished reputation.

Program Outcomes (PO)

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is expected to:

  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the diversity of learners in various learning areas.
  • Manifest meaningful and comprehensive pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) of the different subject areas.
  • Utilize appropriate assessment and evaluation tools to measure learning outcomes.
  • Manifest skills in communication, higher order thinking and use of tools and technology to accelerate learning and teaching.
  • Demonstrate positive attributes of a model teacher both as an individual and as a professional.
  • Manifest a desire to continuously pursue personal development and professional development.

Curriculum

BEEd program at FEU Roosevelt is a 157-unit degree designed to prepare future educators with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to effectively teach in elementary schools. The curriculum includes 36 units of general education for a strong academic foundation, 42 units of professional education courses covering teaching strategies, classroom management, and curriculum development, and 57 units of major/specialization courses focused on elementary-level subject areas and pedagogy. Students also complete 8 units of PATHFIT (PE), 6 units of National Service Training Program (NSTP), 3 units of electives, and 5 institutional units that align with FEU Roosevelt’s mission and vision. With an emphasis on theoretical and practical training, the program integrates field experiences and internships, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and future careers in elementary education.
