The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) program at FEU Roosevelt is designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to educate young children from infancy to age eight. This program focuses on the developmental needs, learning styles, and educational practices suitable for early childhood, preparing future educators to create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment.

The curriculum emphasizes child development, play-based learning, inclusive education, and the creation of effective learning experiences for young children. Students will also gain hands-on experience through internships and practical training in early childhood education settings.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

Three to five years after graduation, graduates are:

  1. Teachers who are gainfully employed in a government recognized public or private educational institution for young children, locally or internationally, and successfully assuming responsibilities of increasing complexity.
  2. Licensed professional teachers who demonstrate technical and professional expertise in the field of early childhood education and are engaged in continuing personal and professional development.
  3. Teachers who strictly adhere to high moral values in the practice of their profession with dignity and unblemished reputation.

Curriculum

BECEd program at FEU Roosevelt is designed to equip future educators with the knowledge and skills needed to nurture young learners. The 163-unit curriculum integrates general education, professional education, and major courses, ensuring a strong foundation in child development, curriculum planning, and effective teaching strategies. Students take 36 units of general education, 42 units of professional education, and 63 units of specialization courses, focusing on early childhood pedagogy and classroom management. Additional coursework includes physical fitness (8 units), NSTP (6 units), institutional courses (5 units), and special topics (3 units) covering emerging trends in education. With a balance of theory and hands-on training, including field experiences in preschool settings, the program prepares graduates for careers in early childhood education while also equipping them for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). Rooted in FEU Roosevelt’s values of resilience, competence, and integrity, the program fosters educators who are well-prepared to shape the next generation.
