S.Y. 2022-2023
The ABM Bazaar was held on the 2nd day of the school’s founding anniversary celebration. ABM students from Grades 11 and 12 tested their ideas, interacted with customers, and gained practical business experience.
From savory to sweet, spicy to mild, the food stalls had snacks for everyone to indulge in and gratify their taste buds. One of the stalls, It’SAWrap, provided the students with Filipino street snacks wrapped in lumpia wrappers. The owners of the stall were Group 1 from 12-ABM A. Their menu included the familiar golden and crunchy cheese sticks filled with melty cheese and ham coated with cheese powder. They also offer fiery dynamite, a deseeded green long chili stuffed with slices of cheese and ham. To combat the spicy flavor of their dynamite and quench the students’ thirst, they also sold a drink called “Magic Water” that looks just like ice-cold water but tastes sweet and has clear gelatin. Their prices range from ₱10.00 to ₱30.00.
One of the highlights of Upside-Down Corner was the Takoyaki, a Japanese ball-shaped snack made with wheat batter filled with savory bits of ham and cheese or tender octopus pieces. As they sizzled on the grill, the aroma of the Takoyaki filled the air, teasing the taste buds of passersby. Once cooked to perfection, the crispy round balls were generously drizzled with mayonnaise and Takoyaki sauce.
The stall also provided a Henna Tattoo service for students who wanted to express their creative side or have a memory of the event. Customers could choose from various designs, from minimalist patterns to bold and edgy designs.
Deja Brew was the perfect pick-me-up for coffee lovers to tickle their energy. This stall from 12-ABM C served five (5) flavors of coffee: vanilla, americano, caramel, chocolate, and hazelnut. For only ₱49 and ₱59, one can indulge in a delicious cup of coffee without breaking the bank. It was a no-brainer for those on a tight budget or looking for a quick, delicious caffeine fix.
11-ABM B sells waffles; Julia Raven Carpio says the business is a class decision. ABM Bazaar sold shaped pancakes in the past, and now it switched to waffles. “Mas mabenta po waffles namin kaysa sa pancakes po dati,” Julia says.
The 11-ABM B also sold Nachos and smores for snacks and blue lemonade for the drinks. The class decided to sell the same products as the last ABM Bazaar.
11-ABM A sold milk tea in their business, Tearintas. Van Carla Abas said, “It’s a group effort.” Van shared her experience being a barista with her classmates to run Tearintas smoothly. While at another booth, they made a carnival game of darts and balloons. The prices were snacks, like chips and chocolate Stik-O’s.
During the closing time at around 4:00 p.m., I was at the Tearintas booth—the 11- ABM A mixed shakes and milk tea for themselves. I was glad to see their smiles. After a long day, it was time to relax and sip after a day of good business and the friendships that formed along the way.
